Musculoskeletal imaging is changing the treatment and recovery of sports and other muscular/tendon injuries. If you are suffering from pain in any joint or have any of the complaints below then ultrasound will help you in getting an accurate diagnosis and evaluating effective treatments.

 

Depending on the presenting clinical symptoms the ultrasound examination can involve a full assessment of the joint or can be tailored to a specific region of interest.

Clinical History/ complaints

​

Shoulder             

tendon tear, frozen shoulder, pain on movement, swelling  or mass

 

Elbow                   

ligament sprains or tears, golfer or tennis elbow, mass or fluid collection

​

Wrist/hand        

pain or swelling of the joints

​

Groin                    

pain, swelling, noticeable lump and hernia

​

Hip                        

pain on walking or noticed a lump

​

Knee                    

pain, swelling, tendon injury (we are unable to assess the internal knee joint, just the superficial structures surrounding the knee)

​

Ankle/foot         

tear, lump, pain, numbness in the toes
